Thermal, digital and combined viewing modes
The Merger Duo supports several observation modes. The thermal image mode is used for animal detection and observation in any weather conditions, while digital image mode maintains improved target-identification capability in Full-HD resolution. The “Picture-in-Picture” function makes it possible to simultaneously display images from both optical channels, prioritising the thermal or digital image.
Highly sensitive thermal sensor
Highly sensitive 640x480 pixel @ 17 µm thermal imaging sensor with NETD <25mK ensures stunning thermal image quality and perfect detail recognition even in the hardest weather conditions, when thermal contrast is low. The smallest temperature differences will be clearly visible during the rainfall, fog or cold mornings, in the most difficult conditions for thermal imager.
Extra low-light Full-HD digital night vision
The image generated by the Merger Duo NXP50 digital night channel features high definition and high-quality detail processing. Silhouettes, anatomical differences, behavioral peculiarities – HD-resolution electronics display the trophy qualities of an animal, giving the hunter the information needed for good decision-making on a shot.
IR illuminator
The Merger Duo NXP50 comes with an attachable invisible 940 nm IR illuminator with adjustable spot positioning. It increases the image detail in the digital channel during a pitch-black night.
User mode
Use the brightness and contrast adjustments to maximise the detail and informative value of the image in specific observation conditions. The User Mode function saves selected brightness and contrast settings in the device's memory providing optimal image quality for the next use of the thermal imager immediately, with no additional adjustments needed.
Image. Quality
Advanced Pulsar Image boost technology
Pulsar Image Boost gives Merger Duo thermal imaging the highest level of detail, clarity and contrast with a set of original image processing algorithms. Merger Duo multispectral binoculars render complex scenes in a wide range of halftones with evenly emitting low-contrast objects, such as the sky, grass and water surfaces. Software detailing and sharpening of objects at different distances makes the thermal image highly informative. Manually increasing the thermal imaging sensor sensitivity improves the quality of animal detection when observation conditions worsen. A smoothing filter and a wide range of brightness and contrast settings make prolonged observation time comfortable.
Fast aperture F50/1.0 thermal lens
The characteristics of thermal imaging optics have a decisive influence on a thermal imager’s ability to capture even the lowest radiation levels. Ultimate detection efficiency is achieved with the fast lens of the Merger Duo (F50/1.0) thermal imager in combination with the highly sensitive thermal sensor. The Merger Duo gives users the best quality, most detailed & high-contrast, informative imagery every time, even during rain or fog, when the temperature contrast of the observed scene is minimal.
Invisible IR Illuminator for image detail increase in digital channel
The Merger Duo NXP50 is supplied with an attachable 940 nm invisible IR illuminator, increasing the image detail in digital channels at night. Three-step power adjustment allows the user to choose their preferred viewing distance and the illumination levels of observed objects. Fine IR spot position control makes it possible to place the highest illumination levels in a desired area of the field of view.
High-contrast HD AMOLED displays
While the Merger’s HD AMOLED displays deliver crisp, richly contrasted, vividly colored field of view, AMOLED technology ensures flawless, fluid, high-resolution image, and power saving.
A selection of 8 colour palettes in thermal mode
A choice of eight colour palettes enables the user to observe their field of view more effectively, allowing them to optimise the unit for specific tasks as well as react to changing observation conditions. White Hot, Black Hot and Red Hot are optimal for object detection. Rainbow and Ultramarine help increase the chances of recognition & identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia and Violet are best for extended observation at night.
1800m thermal detection range
The advantage of thermal imaging is early animal detection at any time of day. At night, it is the most effective way to find game at a great distance. Due to high-quality long-focal-length optics and a high-sensitivity sensor, the Merger Duo has outstanding capabilities for the observation range – an object with a height of 1.8 m is detected at 1800 meters in complete darkness.
User-friendly
Comfortable viewing experience
The Merger binoculars’ optical design fully takes into account the nature of human vision. It is natural for a person to receive visual information through two visual channels simultaneously. Viewing with two eyes is less tiring than viewing with one. This means better detection of small or faint objects, and better performance in low-contrast scenarios than similar monocular thermal imaging devices with the same technical level. The interpupillary distance in the Merger binoculars is adjustable from 62 to 74 mm in accordance with the individual characteristics of a particular user.
Convenient classic binocular design
Merger Duo multispectral binoculars are built with the classic design of daytime binoculars. With a small form factor, these binoculars fit comfortably in the hand, but still offer appealing external aesthetics and exemplary ergonomics. The six function buttons are placed in the comfort access zone and the most used digital device functions are activated with a single touch.
Built-in photo and video recorder
The Merger Duo has a built-in video recorder. The internal memory can store hours of video and tens of thousands of photos. One touch of a button is enough to take a photo of an interesting scene or start recording video.
Dual battery system
The Merger Duo is powered with two rechargeable batteries: one built-in with a capacity of 4 Ah, the other replaceable with a capacity of 3.2 Ah. A single charge guarantees up to 7 hours of battery life. The embossment on the body of the replaceable battery for accurate determination of the correct position makes it possible to quickly and confidently replace a flat battery with a new one in complete darkness by touch.
Ergonomic and functional carrying case
A hunter must be fast-moving. A sign of good quality equipment is being at hand when needed, and invisible the rest of the time. Stylish on the outside, the Merger Duo case is user-friendly and comfortable to carry. The device is quickly and easily removed from the case and placed in position. The system of optimal belt positioning distributes the device weight on the hunter's body, relieving the load from the shoulders, back and neck. The case fits snugly to the body, without preventing the hunter from freely bending, turning, crouching, moving across country and using weapons. Additionally, the case is equipped with straps for attaching it to a waist belt, as well as to equipment with a modular Molle fixation system, including backpacks and webbed gears.
Stream Vision 2. Wi-Fi integration with iOS and Android devices
Built-in Wi-Fi connects the Merger Duo to Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 mobile application. This opens up a wide range of options including wireless device software updates, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone screen, publication on social media of photo and video content captured by the device or transfer to messengers, remote control of digital device functions and access to the latest news from Pulsar. Moreover, registered users receive 16 GB of cloud storage for photos and videos recorded with the device.
Proximity sensor for covert use
Observation in the dark requires being covert, so that hunted animals are not alerted by your presence. Going to stand-by using Display Off feature is a usual way to prevent backlight from the eyepieces. To simplify this task Merger Duo has a built-in proximity sensor. It acts as a display switch for preventing backlight exposure in the dark. When the unit is taken away from the eyes, proximity sensor switches both displays off and when the unit is brought closer both displays are switched on offering excellent image quality.
Dual Wi-Fi waveband support 2.4 / 5 GHZ
In Merger Duo thermal imagers, the standard smartphone connection frequency range via a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi channel is complemented with an effective 5 GHz range. The 5 GHz connection offers better bandwidth, a faster data transfer rate, noise immunity and improved connection stability, resulting in more productive and easier operation of the thermal imager with a smartphone.
